If I were the HR officer I would not follow my superior's direction. The person we were hiring is someone who is qualified and if we hire this individual the company would profit a lot from them as they would help the business.

If I were the purchaser, I think I would bid the company that I part-own. If we win the bidding not only will the telecommunications company profit from it but so will the company that I part-own. We just have to make a solid strategy so that we'll be able to win .

If my child needs school supplies I would still try my best to find a store that is open to find them what they need. Being a student myself, this has happened a few times and I know how frustrating it is not only for the child but the parents as well. If I can't find a store that is open and selling the things they need I would inform the teacher that I wasn't able to buy the supplies needed for the project.
